James D. Greenwood

Founder/Attorney

James D. Greenwood is the founder of Greenwood Law and an accomplished attorney based in Rock Island, Illinois. With a diverse background in law, business, and human rights, James has dedicated his career to helping clients plan for the future and navigate complex legal challenges.

James holds a Juris Doctor (JD) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Drake University, as well as a Bachelor of Arts in Human Rights and Capitalism from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. He also studied at the University of Kent in Canterbury, UK, and Vincennes University, and completed the US Navy Nuclear Power School. Recently, James earned an LLM in Tax from Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law.

Throughout his career, James has worked in various sectors, including startups, industry, government, and private law firms. This breadth of experience gives him a unique perspective on estate planning and helps him appreciate his clients' objectives. James is passionate about ensuring that everyone gets a fair shake and is treated equally under the law.

At Greenwood Law, James assists clients with estate planning, probate, guardianships, conservatorships, business matters, and tax problems. His commitment to providing excellent client service has been recognized by his peers, and he was recently selected as a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers.
